Below are the recommended settings for Mp4 file on Signage Studio Software. 

Resolution: 720p for Android Player  -or- 1080p for Windows Player
Codec: H264
Bit-data Rate: 3000 or less for Android Player -or- 7000 for Windows
Frame Rate: 24 fps for Android Player -or- 60 fps for Windows
Audio is must: 44 Khrtz @ 128 kbps

How to Convert Video Files to MP4 H264  with Audio:

You can use you existing designing software or you can use a third party software like FreeMake to quickly convert your current video files to Mp4 format via H264 Codec.
