Run Google Chrome External App in certain Positioning

If you would like to just run Google chrome in full screen & kiosk mode as an external application via studio pro then refer to KB:

If you would like to run Google chrome in a certain height an width and run RSS and weather in other sections then from step No 4 follow these changes:

Step-4:

Double Click the ExtApp/Capture component to load its properties:

App name: Enter the path to chrome executable on the media player.
Command Line:  --incognito --app=http://www.yourwebaddress.com

--app: To disable the address bar
--Incognito:  Disables all popup messages on the crash like restore session.
Note: Not recommended for touch screens since the title bar cannot be hidden so anyone can close by clicking "x"

Step-5:

On PC X5 open the Local App Data folder to edit the default chrome position under preferences.

  • Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\.
  • Open the file "Preferences" in a text editor like Notepad.
  • First, resave the file to something like "Preference - Old" without any extension (i.e. no .txt). This will serve as a backup, should something go wrong.
  • Look for a section called "browser." Inside that section, you should find a subsection called window_placement. Under window_placement you will see things like "bottom", "left", "right", etc. with numbers after them.
