Run Google Chrome External App in certain Positioning
If you would like to just run Google chrome in full screen & kiosk mode as an external application via studio pro then refer to KB:
If you would like to run Google chrome in a certain height an width and run RSS and weather in other sections then from step No 4 follow these changes:
Step-4:
Double Click the ExtApp/Capture component to load its properties:
App name: Enter the path to chrome executable on the media player.
--app: To disable the address bar
--Incognito: Disables all popup messages on the crash like restore session.
Note: Not recommended for touch screens since the title bar cannot be hidden so anyone can close by clicking "x"
Step-5:
On PC X5 open the Local App Data folder to edit the default chrome position under preferences.
- Go to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\
. - Open the file "Preferences" in a text editor like Notepad.
- First, resave the file to something like "Preference - Old" without any extension (i.e. no
.txt
). This will serve as a backup, should something go wrong. - Look for a section called "browser." Inside that section, you should find a subsection called
window_placement
. Under window_placement
you will see things like "bottom", "left", "right", etc. with numbers after them.
